International One Metre
Irish National Class Association
How  can I start ?
We would recommend you come and talk to us as we can give you a few pointers, recommend what you need and you could even try helming one for yourself.

Gilbert Louis, Jeff Kay or Des Dwyer who are the 3 committee members.

What’s good about it ?
First and foremost it is a sailing class. It’s an active sailing class with people of all levels.  You can start sailing with a good boat for a reasonable price. We are a small group of passionate who would help any new skippers. It’s not because you have an old boat or you are less experienced than others that you can’t win series... We recently introduced handicap racing too. We are small but growing and some of us travel to international races abroad. Why don’t you can come and try it - It’s addictive and it’s not going to ruin your wallet

Boats and equipments
You’ll find all you need in this dedicated section here.

How much ?
From upwards of €400 you have a boat, sails and all the equipments ready to sail. Of course second hand. We have an active second hand market and often boats are also bought abroad either new or second hand. Once your initial purchase is done you have very little running cost. And you can get spares or parts to improve your boat readily available on the web (list of suppliers here)
But before you buy come and try.

When & Where ?
You’ll find us here as for when, just check the calendar of events
